Pilar de la Horadada
Pilar de la Horadada is where the Costa Blanca ends and Murcia begins. The beaches here are long and shallow, backed by promenades rather than towers, and a sixteenth-century watchtower still stands over the sand at Torre de la Horadada.
Inland, the town itself goes about its business: a weekly market, a proper square, schools and sports centres that work through the winter. Between the two lies Pinar de Campoverde, a residential pine forest where the air smells of resin.
