Guardamar del Segura

32 listings available

A hundred years ago the dunes were swallowing Guardamar. So the town planted a forest — a million pines and eucalyptus — and it held. Today that forest is the reason people come: eleven kilometres of golden sand with woodland right behind it, and almost no high-rise anywhere.

The Segura river meets the sea here, beside a modern marina. The town itself is compact enough to walk, with a Moorish castle on the hill above and the beach never more than a few minutes away.
