Benidorm
Benidorm is unlike anywhere else in Spain. Towers rise straight from the beach, the promenades run for kilometres, and the whole thing works — because it was planned that way, densely, so that everyone lives within walking distance of the sand.
It never closes. Restaurants serve in January, buses run every ten minutes, the hospitals and clinics are among the best on the coast. Behind the skyline sits the old town, whitewashed and steep, with a viewpoint over both bays and fishing boats below.
